Bio Professor (Adjunct) John Sturdy John is highly-regarded as a thought leader in the management and career guidance of people. He brings to an organisation over 25 yearsÂ’ experience in the talent management lifecycle related to the attraction, development, retention and engagement of staff. This includes executive search, outplacement, coaching, mentoring, organisational review, managerial and business consulting, account and client management, relationship networking and development and strategic positioning of organisations and their associated employment brand. John began his working life as an engineer in private industry and then with the predecessor to Melbourne Water, and after service in Australia and offshore as a partner and General Manager in small, medium and large consulting firms, he changed career direction into talent/people solutions. He has been a senior leader and executive in multinational and national and boutique recruitment and human resource consulting organisations. John has worked extensively across the private and public sector associated in all aspects of talent management for local and international clients. JohnÂ’s continuing interest in executive development and growth is amply demonstrated by his current service on the advisory board of Victoria UniversityÂ’s Management and IT Faculty, and the Monash UniversityÂ’s Civil Engineering Department. In 2008, Monash University recognized the breadth of JohnÂ’s achievements in naming him as a Distinguished Alumnus in their 50th year. His pivotal work has included the strategic review of the CFA organisational structure following Black Saturday. The award and delivery of the outplacement program for Holden Special Design Team in 2009 (64 professional and senior staff) the designed program lead and candidate support program led to the successful placement of all participants in new roles within three month.
