Kym King Careers

I am the founder of Kym King Careers. I work with a variety of clients from mums returning to work to individuals transitioning into new careers or contemplating retirement. Having been a professional dancer, dance teacher and arts administrator, I have a special interest and experience in career development and transition with dancers, as well as other performers, athletes, and those working in the creative industries. Because my clients come from different backgrounds and bring with them different interests, needs and goals, each career session is uniquely tailored. I use counselling and coaching skills to help clients remember their achievements and to imagine the future that they would like to have. In addition, I may use a range of tools such as questionnaires, inventories and card sorts designed to create self-awareness of values, interests, strengths and preferred occupations. I also help clients to identify training and study options and help with updating resumes and writing application letters. I am passionate about helping people to find work/life/family balance. I also enjoy writing and researching and have published articles on dancers and careers with Dance Australia and Dance Informa.
