Melita Long has 21 years in Career and Executive Coaching helping 3,300+ mid-career professionals get past career crossroads and gain their ideal career role. · Her experience includes career coaching, executive coaching, leadership development, Human Resources, recruitment, learning and development, and marketing. Melita has worked in healthcare, education, financial and professional services, technology, and public sector in Australia, New Zealand, Germany and England. She’s worked with clients from all corporate professions and industries and speaks fluent German and Spanish and intermediate French. Melita specialises in coaching mid-life career professionals and executives to achieve career success. In her 3 years as a Career Development Consultant at Melbourne Business School she coached MBA, executive and senior executive MBA students up to CEO and Board level with career transitions and progressions. After Melita’s own ‘quarter-life career crisis’ in 2003 she left financial marketing due to a values clash and lacking a sense of purpose. After working with a coach through a discovery process, Melita chose to become a career coach and help others find their purpose or 'ikigai' in careers and jobs they enjoy. She then talked her way into establishing career services for a recruitment firm, and after encouragement from clients set up her own business Careers on Purpose in 2005. Melita enjoys helping people feel more satisfied and confident in their jobs and careers, including after redundancy having been through redundancy twice herself, to regain their ‘mojo’ and get the role and salary they deserve. She is skilled at helping people identify and quantify their achievements and their value to employers in their roles and teaches them how to define this in their career collateral - CVs, LinkedIn, cover letters personal branding, and interviews. Her approach is very individual focused on spending quality time with clients to draw out their strengths and unique points of difference.
