Tom is an experienced executive coach. He works with executives across Australia in helping them to take charge of their career journeys, whether it is a new or existing career chapter that is being navigated. He has particular experience in helping his clients to develop effective interpersonal capabilities and adaptive resilience skills. Tom holds an MSc (Psychology & Neuroscience of Mental Health, King's College London) and MBA (AGSM, UNSW). Prior to executive coaching, Tom worked in leadership roles across both public and private sectors for over two decades, with experience in both large (and multinational) organisations, as well as in consultancies and small business. He is acutely mindful of the challenges that are faced in dealing with change at individual, interpersonal and organisational levels across industry sectors, and is well-attuned to empathic understanding of the business/strategic contexts faced by his clients. He has shared his ideas on leadership development as a regular contributing writer on leadership for the Financial Review/Boss magazine between 2015-19 (articles can be read here: https://www.tomloncar.com.au/afr-com-articles/). In addition to Professional Membership of the CDAA, Tom is also a member of the International Coaching Federation (PCC accredited), the Association for Coaching and the Association for Contextual Behavioral Science, and he is an affiliate member of the Institute of Coaching (McLean Hospital/Harvard Medical School) and the Association for Psychological Science.
